Done. Done. Done. Done. Done. Done.

Michael and I have been together for almost 9 years.  In that time we've experienced a lot!  4 years of marriage, 4 different cities, 3 schools, several jobs, 1 daughter......and now he is finally done with school!  Yesterday we attended his commencement ceremony and he received his diploma.  To be honest, I have a real "fight the power" streak in me.  I asked if he HAD to wear his cap & gown, if he HAD to walk ...and during the whole ceremony I found myself mocking the system, the robes, the speeches, the flags etc.  All the sudden, I was caught by surprise.  As the Dean asked the students to ceremonially move their tassels from one side of their cap to the other, and welcomed them into the world of scholars-I found my eyes producing some salty discharge.....tears?!  I couldn't help but think about what a monumental year it has been for us.  9 months of pregnancy, a grueling delivery, a feisty baby, and parenthood-and through it all Michael has remained steadfast.  He never complained about getting up in the middle of the night, or staying up ALL night at times.  He came home from 12 hour days of work and school, and not only had the new responsibility of a family, but then he had homework on top of it all.  I am so proud!  We look forward to what is in store for our future, and hope the next 9 years are just as exciting as the last.  Congrats Michael!
