I was looking through Ingrid's baby photo album tonight, and as I concentrated on the photo's of us in the hospital, I felt as if I were actually there, holding her for the first time.  That feeling of pure euphoria overcame me.  Then I flipped to the page when that euphoria and been blanketed by sleeplessness.  I found this picture of Ingrid's first bath time.  She was 1 week old, and I had gotten a total of about 6 hours of sleep that whole week (which is a generous guest-imation).  It's hard to believe that she spent so much time crying, not eating, and not sleeping.  Today she is a happy, energetic, toddler-and it's so easy to forget the reality of that first week home.  The way I look in this picture pretty much says it all...

Family Update

Well...tis' the season I like to call Harvest (unfortunately potatoes don't dig themselves up).  I suppose that's the life of a "farm wife".  I eagerly anticipate it's end, maybe then we can start enjoying more than 1 hour of family time a day!  In the mean time, we are savoring every free moment together.  In fact, last weekend Michael and I celebrated a monumental step in our life's as parents.  We spent out first night solo.  Even though I cried as we pulled out of the driveway, and might have suffered a few mini panic attacks through out the weekend, it is safe to say the getaway was a success.  (More on our mini "trip" later).  In other news Ingrid has graduated to 1 nap a day (tear), speaking really well (new words daily!), running everywhere, and getting from a sitting to standing position with no help.  She is growing up so fast!

With Michael working so many hours, Ingrid and I have been trying to keep ourselves busy.  I'm starting to wonder if the people at Target know me by name now....anyway-this past week my grandparents came over for a little visit.  We miss them so much since moving away-and I think the feelings are mutual!  They had a great time with Ingrid, and I think she had a fun time showing off all her new tricks (speeding walking, talking up a storm..) Here are a few pictures from our time together...
