Two years ago around 1pm, I was sitting on my couch watching Television, when I had an overwhelming feeling that I was not alone.  I don't mean this figuratively, but very literally.  I felt my stomach and had an instant inner knowledge, that I had been blessed with a child.  Michael was busy at school, taking a final-when I anxiously drove to Wal Mart, my hands tightly gripping the steering wheel so that I would stop shaking (shaking in a good way, mind you).  I bought a pregnancy test, drove home, and took it.  I stared at that little pink stick, when within seconds I saw TWO lines appear.  Two.  I was in an instant state of shock.  I couldn't believe that it really happened, I was really pregnant.  Minutes later I took another test, and that too, was positive.  I called the number on the back of the box so that I could hear the recording say "If you see two lines, no matter how faint the second line is, you are in fact, pregnant".  I'll never forget those words.  I started to hyperventilate (again, all in a positive way), and pace around my tiny apartment.  I must have called Michael 20 times over the next two hours, even though I knew I wouldn't get ahold of him.  Why I choose to take the test without him there, I'll never fully understand!  I think that I was planning on saying something like "See, I told you I wasn't pregnant".  But the outcome was very different.  Finally, after what felt like days, he called me back and I said.."So I took a test, and it has TWO lines....TWO!"  He asked what that meant and I said..."It means you're pregnant".  We were so, so, so, thrilled.....and the rest is history.

(Oh, besides the fact that later that afternoon I went to the doctor's office to take a blood test-I guess I just needed a doctor to tell me that the 4 test's I took didn't lie!)

Fun with Friends

The past couple of months we actually found time to get together with some friends!  I love seeing Ingrid with other little kid's, she just loves the interaction!

Last month I was able to get together with my dear friend Megan.  It was so fun being able to catch up, she is just a delight to be around!  And as for her son....well he is just about as cute as they come.  Such a sweetheart!  Here are a few pics of the kiddo's!

There just so cute!!

I love the way they are looking at each other here!

Next up, the smith boys!  Oh how i adore them!  Emily and I have been friends since 3rd grade, and I love that we share so many similar memories.  It's a blast having kids around the same age, and whenever we get together I know it's going to be a good time!

Baby creations!

I have found lately that when it comes to crocheting, I have a very short attention span.  Which is why making "baby" things really works out great!  Here are a few of my latest creations....

I started to make these baby booties, when I realized- don't remember how small newborn feet are anymore!  Hopefully I got it right....

A diaper cover....how fun would it be to take newborn photo's of a baby wearing this?!

The backside.....seriously-what's cuter then a flower on the butt?!  (Oh yeah, I taught myself to crochet a flower.  I'm kick ass)

Last but not least, a matching headband....

So that's how I've been spending nap time lately!  (Currently I'm finishing up a pair of leg warmers, and then moving on to a "jumper" for Ingrid.  phew!)

Harvest Holiday

This thanksgiving my parents took our entire family (sister and boyfriend included) up to Grand Marais, Mn.  It was an awesome vacation!  We didn't even have to jump out of any gondola's (for those of you who don't know, last year on our trip up to Lutsen we went on a gondola ride.  The gondola broke down, and we got stuck for a few hours until finally being emergency evacuated by jumping out.  This wouldn't have been so scary had we not had our 3 month old baby with us!...)

We couldn't believe how much easier the trip was this year compared with last year.  Like I said, last year Ingrid was 3 months old-so the trip included bringing a TON with us to accomodate Ingrid, a lot of stops to nurse, a lot of sleeplessness....in fact I'm still a little stressed just thinking about it.  This year Ingrid was 15 months, and she did wonderful on our car ride, which surprised me a lot considering she is constantly on the move.  We got up to Grand Marais (an 8 hour car ride) with ease.  She slept great,  She ate well.  We overall just had a blast.  We can definitley tell that Ingrid has a spirit that will chase adventure.  She loved being in and exploring a new place.  Did I mention we had our own private condo equiped with a full kitchen, fireplace, and beautiful view of the lake?  It rocked!

It was so cold out that we didn't "do" a lot of anything, which was just fine with me.  Ingrid got to spend tons of time with her Aunt Mary, and even learned to say her name! (Mare-mee)...which most definitley made me tear up!  We had a great time with Ben, my sister's boyfriend-he's pretty much the bomb.com and it's always a good time when he's around.  We enjoyed spending time together, watching movies, going on walks, and sharing our thanksgiving meal.
Here are a few photo's from our trip!

Me and my babe thanksgiving morning...

Ingrid loved her new toy we got her for the car ride...can you tell?!

This was Ingrid expression going through the tunnels....it made me laugh!
